East Service Lane Works

Contractor guidance for drainage survey activity near the east service lane, shared access routes and inherited site risks.

Active works

Language support

Key operational guidance can be provided in approved workplace languages so staff, contractors and visitors can understand instructions at the point of need.

Safety note: Safety-critical wording should be controlled and approved before use.

RAMS Awareness

Before entry

Confirm the latest RAMS revision, permit controls, insurance status and supervisor release before entering the working area.

Authorised Works

Drainage survey

Activity is limited to the approved drainage survey boundary. Any change to scope, plant, timing or method needs Estates review.

Restricted Areas

Shared route

Keep the east service lane, visitor diversion, neighbouring access track and any signed exclusion zones clear during the works window.

Isolation Requirements

Check first

Do not disturb drains, covers, ducts or services until isolation need, utility notes and buried-service uncertainty have been checked.

Inherited Site Risks

Local knowledge

The access track is still known locally as "The Willows". Historic drainage changes and soft ground may not match the drawing.

Public & Shared Access

Keep open

Visitor parking is redirected to the north compound. Keep pedestrian movement, neighbouring access and emergency routes unobstructed.

Environmental Awareness

Runoff risk

Drainage access, standing water, silt movement, blocked covers and spill pathways should be reported before work continues. Stop work and report any unsafe condition before the route is reopened.

Escalation Contacts

Estates route

Escalate permit doubt, access conflict, isolation uncertainty, public interface risk or unexpected ground conditions through the Estates contact.

Works Close-Out

Before leaving

Confirm barriers, drainage covers, temporary restrictions, photographs and any follow-up notes before the work area is released.
